Dubai wedding planning
Planning your Dubai wedding from the UK.
A local production team, remote design reviews and a clear division between the celebration and the trip.
Make remote meetings work for both sides.
Agree call times in UK and Dubai local time and put the date and time zone on each invitation. Dubai stays on the same local time throughout the year, while UK clocks change; do not use one fixed time difference for every appointment.
After each call, circulate the decisions, open questions and next approval date. This matters more than having another long call with no shared record.
Keep supplier quotations in their original currency.
Work from the supplier's AED quote and record what it includes. A GBP estimate can help you plan, but exchange rates and bank charges may change what leaves your account. Confirm payment dates and the currency required in the contract; do not build your whole wedding around an undated conversion.
Plan the guest trip separately.
Collect expected arrival dates and accommodation preferences before sharing a guest itinerary. Confirm flights and entry requirements with the relevant providers and official authorities. Any transport, room block or welcome event needs its own scope and responsible person.
Use a Dubai visit for the decisions that need it.
If you can travel before the wedding, prioritise the venue walk-through, layout review and important finish samples. Much of the design can progress remotely; the visit should answer specific questions instead of restarting the brief.
Be clear about ceremony and celebration.
A wedding celebration and the legal marriage process are different arrangements. Confirm any legal requirements with official authorities independently of the décor and production contract. We can then plan the celebration around the confirmed programme.
Planning questions
How should UK couples compare AED wedding quotes?
Compare the same service scope in AED first. Keep travel costs and currency conversion separate, and use your bank’s current rate and charges when planning payments.
Are UK-to-Dubai guest travel arrangements part of the production quote?
Do not assume that they are. Hotel stays, flights and transfers need named responsibilities and separate confirmation in the agreed scope.
